Seniors Programs and Services
North Shore Neighbourhood House offers many fun fitness, sport and recreational classes that appeal to a wide variety of interests and are inclusive of all ability levels. Come visit us to sing, paint, dance, learn a new skill, go on outings, keep healthy or chat with other seniors. Everyone is welcome!
Our Seniors programs are offered at the NSNH and John Braithwaite Community Centre. We’d love to have you join us!

Seniors Wellness
Social Circle
This unique outreach program is for frail and/or isolated seniors living on the North Shore. Our goal is to provide health, wellness and socialization opportunities to help improve quality of life. The group meets once a week for 1.5 hours. Call Karin Weidner at 236-985-5507 for more information.
active social minds - a dementia support program
This unique social drop-in program includes weekly sessions of mild physical exercise, fun games and creative activities. The focus is to encourage inclusive social interaction and enjoyable activities. Participants can attend on their own or with a caregiver. Includes a light lunch, refreshments, and cookies.
The group meets once a week on Thursdays from 12-1:30pm. Call Karin Weidner at 236-985-5507 for more information.
Peer Support Volunteer Program
A special bond of trust develops between people who are of similar age, values and experiences.
Seniors volunteers are screened and receive thorough training to offer emotional support, resource information and guidance regarding life changes and challenges.
This one-on-one support service is free, confidential, and available in different languages. Potential participants can request service or be referred for it.
We are currently seeking new volunteers.
