Teen Club is a licensed Out of School care Program for special needs teenagers aged 13 to 18 that focuses on social and life skill development through exposure to a wide variety of leisure activities.
The teens attending the program are referred by Community Living British Columbia. They have a wide variety of challenges: Autism, Down Syndrome, William’s Syndrome, general developmental delays, hearing and visual impairments, psychiatric disorders and learning disabilities. Staff work with social workers, school staff, psychologists/psychiatrists, neurologists, behaviour therapists and families to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.
Teen Club provides high quality programming that includes a balance of in-house and community based activities; these include sports, drama and music programs, game days and outings to locations in the community. During school breaks, teens participate in a wide variety of activities locally and across the Lower Mainland. Special events such as dances, parties, and graduation days are organized on a regular basis.

Youth Living With Loss serves youth ages 13 through 19 who are grieving the death of a family member or friend. Referrals may be made at any time and all services are provided at no cost.
Group sessions are held twice a month throughout the school year, alternating between the North Shore Neighbourhood House and Ambleside Youth Centre. Groups are facilitated by trained bereavement counsellors with the assistance of peer mentors. Youth have opportunities to connect with peers in a safe environment, develop coping skills, increase their understanding of the grieving process, and express themselves through the creative arts. Our meetings include snacks, check-in and a discussion topic or activity selected by group members.
Youth Living With Loss program recognizes that:
- A peer support group can provide a safe and accepting space where youth can connect with others who understand the experience of losing loved ones
- Youth experiencing grief and loss have unique needs that can be met through youth-centered programming
- Support from schools and community organizations is essential for identifying youth in need
- Individual assessment assists in determining when a youth is ready to join our group
- The creative arts are an important part of youth culture and can be employed by as effective tools in the grieving process
