This unique outreach program is for frail and/or isolated seniors living on the North Shore. Our goal is to provide health, wellness and socialization opportunities to help improve quality of life. The group meets once a week for two hours.
Grandparent Connections is a program to support grandparents who are caring for their grandchildren under 6 years old. Grandparents have unique challenges as primary care givers. The House provides a gathering place for grandparents to meet, discuss issues, find support and find out about resources to assist them in looking after their young grandchildren. Contact Carol Lundrigan at 604-998-0172 for more information.
Peer Support Volunteer Program
A special bond of trust develops between people who are of similar age, values and experiences.
Seniors volunteers are screened and receive thorough training to offer emotional support, guidance regarding life changes and challenges, as well as providing resource information. This one-on-one support service is free, confidential, and various spoken languages are available. By request or by referral.
We are currently seeking new volunteers. Please visit our volunteering page for more information or contact the Coordinator Lorna Harding at 604-982-8333.
Come join this free drop-in program for older adults. Mild exercises, massage therapy and blood pressure-testing are offered weekly. Guest speakers and other activities are regularly scheduled.
