Legal Services
North Shore Neighbourhood House hosts the UBC Law Students free Legal Advice Program (LSLAP)
through-out the year. Law students working under the guidance of supervising lawyers provide
legal advice on many issues, including: small claims, criminal matters, WCB, CPP, tenancies,
wills, social assistance. Legal advice is provided free of charge. You can make appointments
or find out more about clinic times offered at North Shore Neighbourhood House through the
LSLAP office at 604-822-5791.
Tax Services
Every year from the beginning of March until the end of April, NSNH volunteers offer guidance and assistance to seniors and those on low incomes in filling out their basic income tax forms. If you are a senior, or if your net income is less than $25,000, $30,000 per couple plus $2,000 per dependent child, and you need help in completing your basic income tax form, call NSNH 604-987-8138 to make an appointment.
Donations for the service are gratefully accepted.
Food Bank & Soup Kitchen
We offer a venue for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society each Wednesday of the month
to provide food packages to those in need. The Food Bank is open from 11:30am - 1:00pm and can be
accessed from our ground level south entrance at 225 East 2nd Street.
A nutritious bowl of hot soup is also available to visitors to the food bank site, thanks to the efforts of local volunteers.
