Welcoming Neighbourhood Program Launches New Directory of Resources for New Immigrants

North Shore Neighbourhood House is pleased to offer a new Directory of Resources, Services and Programs for New Immigrants.

Created through the Welcoming Neighbourhoods Program at the House with community support, the directory offers a list of North Shore agencies which provide programs and services specifically to support new immigrants.

“Neighbourhood Houses began many years ago as a response to the turn of the century influx of newcomers to Canada,”  notes House Executive Director Don Rutherford.

“Our House has always offered a wide array of programs for all ages and cultures, but more recently, our participation in the provincially funded Building Welcoming and Inclusive Neighbourhoods Project has provided us with opportunities to reassess the ways in which we help new immigrants feel included.”
