The North Shore Neighbourhood House celebrates diversity. We work with a number of other organizations to ensure the House is culturally inclusive, welcoming and sensitive. We are a place where people in the community gather, we offer supportive services, childcare, social and recreational programs; host fun events and much more. Welcome to Canada Celebration North Shore Neighbourhood House would like to welcome you to the community! Saturday, October 15, 2:00 to 4:30 pm, Drop-in at North Shore Neighbourhood House. Free event.

- Welcoming Neighbours a social english program for newcomers. Meet other newcomers, make new friends, have fun, learn more about Canada and the community, improve your English language skills and build your confidence.Details in Farsi, Mandarin, Korean and English
- Newcomer Family Cooking & Nutrition learn to cook delicious, simple meals common to Canada while learning healthy cooking skills. You’ll meet new friends and have fun cooking together during this 6 week program! Details in Farsi, Korean Mandarin and English

Friendship Circle 55+ and older a social group which welcomes adults new to Canada and the North Shore. Join us to meet new friends, socialize and get to know the community. practice English, go on outings, cook and do a variety of activities based on the interests of the group. Details in Farsi, Korean, Mandarin and English
- Hamrahan – Seniors Peer Support for Farsi Speakers trained Farsi speaking volunteers assist Iranian seniors in adjusting to the many changes in their lives. This is a free confidential service for individual and group support. To arrange an appointment or to attend the group sessions, please call Menijeh or Saeid at North Shore Neighbourhood House, 604-987-8138 ext 211.

In addition, we successfully completed accreditation in 2011 (Continuous Quality Improvement or CQI) that ensures our policies and procedures are free of bias, that all participants are respected and valued, and that we welcome program participants to freely express their concerns about any program or service.
