Our Board
Pam Bookham
Pam Bookham is serving her second term on North Vancouver City Council. Prior to being elected, she served as Co-Chair of the Grand Boulevard-Ridgeway Residents Association and as Coordinator of the Coalition of Community Associations of the City of North Vancouver. She was a leader in the effort to enhance opportunities for meaningful public input in the decisions made by City Council and to engage residents in the civic life of North Vancouver.
Councillor Bookham holds a B.A. (Windsor), a B. Ed. (Toronto) and an M.A. (UBC). A former high school teacher, she now teaches English at Kwantlen University College.
Born in Uxbridge, Ontario, she grew up on RCAF bases in Trenton, Ontario; Baden-Soellingen (4 Wing), Germany; North Bay, Ontario. Councillor Bookham moved to the west coast in 1985 and has lived in North Vancouver for ten years.
Amber Roberts
Amber has stepped up to assume the leadership role of Board Chair.
Mr. Trace Acres
Trace Acres was born in Kelowna, and after residing in most areas of the Lower Mainland, he now calls the North Shore “home” having lived here for six of the last eight years. He is currently director of corporate communications for the British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA), responsible for the association’s internal and external communications, as well as advocacy and government relations.
Trace has one teenaged son who is active in a variety of sports, which has led Trace to serve as a director and treasurer of the West Vancouver Little League Society. In his spare time, he enjoys running , scuba diving and working on his North Vancouver home.
Trace has a diploma in broadcast journalism from BCIT and an MBA from SFU.
Harvey Dykes
Harvey is a Charted Accountant and Certified Financial Planner. He obtained a Bachelors of Commerce from the University of
British Columbia in 1996. After working 10 years in public practice and 3 years in the mining industry. He now works for a property management company located in Edgemont Village.
Harvey became a NSNH Board member in May of 2008. Having grown up on
the North Shore, he is pleased to give back to the community he lives,
works and plays in.
Elizabeth Mah
David is Elizabeth joined North Shore Law LLP as an associate lawyer in August 2005 and became a partner in January 2010. During her time away from the office, she is the Secretary of the CBA North Shore Bar Association and serves on the executive committee of the CBA Lower Mainland Young Lawyers’ subsection. She is also a volunteer lawyer for seniors at the Silver Harbour Seniors’ Centre Legal Advice & Referral clinic. She is the Co-Chair of the Fundraising Committee of the North and West Vancouver branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, involved with Little Flower Academy alumni activities, and Junior Achievement programs at North Vancouver elementary schools. Elizabeth enjoys staying active by working out at the gym, learning to golf and garden, experimenting in the kitchen and retreating to the spa.
Elizabeth Bonner
Joy A long time resident of the North Shore, Elizabeth has been connected to her community through a variety of organizations, primarily in the health education/ promotion and community development realm from the YMCA to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Her diverse background includes healthcare/health promotion, resource development, and currently professional development in the human resources industry. With a degree in Kinesiology and Education from Simon Fraser University, she has always been an outspoken advocate of health and wellness initiatives whether in the work place or in her own personal life. She has also been an avid runner for more than 30 years as well as a recreation enthusiast enjoying all that the region had to offer in the way of world class mountain biking, hiking, climbing, Nordic sports, and water sports.
Marianne Ketchen
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Marianne has called North Vancouver her home since 1986 where just down the street from the House, she has raised a wonderful daughter (Karlie) who now attends the University of Victoria.
Marianne has enjoyed a great many successes in her business career, including executive support, business management, real estate and a twenty year career with Capilano University, currently in the position of Office Manager, Continuing Education. She has also travelled extensively, an opportunity that is never taken for granted.
Through the years Marianne has donated countless hours to fundraising and volunteering. In addition to producing live theatre and sitting on boards of strata councils, community and special events, Marianne is very dedicated to the health and harmony of the North Shore Neighbourhood House and all that contributes to the sustainability and uniqueness of LoLo.
Paul McLean
Paul resides in North Vancouver with his wife Victoria and two children. He is pleased to serve the House, having joined the Board in May of 2008.
A native of Nova Scotia, Paul obtained his B.A. from St. Francis Xavier University and and his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick. He has practised law since 1996 and is presently a partner with Harris & Company LLP, Western Canada's largest law firm devoted to labour and employment law.
When not practising law, he tries to stop the odd puck as a beer league goalie.
Diane Wilson
Diane was born in Vancouver and lived in many cities around BC.
Diane has had a varied and interesting career including roles as a legal secretary, Marketing Manager and Special Events Coordinator for a number of shopping centres, Executive Assistant to a Provincial Cabinet Minister, Manager of a Business Improvement Association and later as Manager of the Chamber of Commerce. Most recently she served on the City of North Vancouver Centennial Task Force Committee.
In her free time, Diane enjoys downhill skiing, curling, racquetball and bridge. Diane currently lives in the City of North Vancouver where she works as a fashion and décor consultant. Daughters Cheray and Lisa live nearby.
Kathy Hobbs
Kathy is a long standing North Vancouver resident, 30 year career with the North Vancouver Recreation Commission, and community volunteer/director with the Delbrook Basketball Association (Jr. Grizzlies League), Cruisers Swim Club, Evergreen Squash Club and Jericho Tennis Club boards include some of Kathy’s accomplishments. Married with 2 sons, Kathy loves being active in triathlons, skiing and yoga.
